Trouble setting up the sdhc card to boot Angstrom. -- 76.219.174.46 18:06, 31 October 2011 (MDT)

I am a n00b at developing, so bare with me. I am having a bit of trouble getting the board to boot up Angstrom, I get the FAT 16 up and running using the script, then I write the image using dd (I write to my 8gb SDHC card) like it says to using:

dd if=angstrom-gpe-2011-10-12.img of=/dev/sdc2 bs=1M

It writes to the card just fine, it also takes out the ext3 filesystem (the writing makes the ext3 partition unreadable to Gparted), which may or may not be a problem, but I am not sure. What I personally think is the problem is that I may have the "bs" option bad which I think would esplain the unreadability of the ext3 filesystem. Like I said, I really am new to developing (and programming in general thought I can usually figure that part out).

By the way, this article does not state how to write to the ext3 partition in windows.

Thank you for pointing that out - the dd command on Windows it's the same, but without the sudo option. We changed the article now.
- first of all you should try to use the block size: bs=512.
- if this doesn't work, then try the WinImage on Windows OS.
- if all of this steps fails, then you should change your microSD card with another one.
